Church
Greetings in the Lord!
I am a tonsured reader proudly serving at a ROCOR (Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia) mission parish in Southern Arizona. We are currently fundraising to build our own church, having already purchased a 2.5 acre plot of land. You can make your tax-deductible donation here.
Here are the details:
We need your help planting roots here in Tucson. We own 2.5 acres of cactus-filled land, purchased with your support two years ago.
Now is the time to start moving forward. We need your help.
Our mission plans to start building our phase 1 building in 2026. We don't want to get stuck in our rental property. We need to keep moving forward.
Our phase 1 building will get us onto the property. Phase 1 includes a temporary church, hall, kitchen, classrooms, office and bookstore. But the cost to make this happen is a huge undertaking. That is why we need to start raising money now.
This year, our parish set the goal to raise $230,000. Next year, we need to raise a similar amount. We hope by 2026, we will have enough funds to move forward with getting a loan to build the phase 1 building so we can move our community to its permanent home, sooner rather than later.
Picture this: a Russian Orthodox church in the Sonoran Desert where cactus and cupola meet. A place for all to visit, especially during the winters when you need a respite from the snowy north.
Can we do this together?
Be a part of crafting our story of building a ROCOR parish dedicated to the Kursk Root Icon in the Sonoran Desert.
Again, you can make a tax-deductible donation here.
Thank you kindly for helping grow Orthodox Christianity in the United States!
In Christ,
Reader Theophan
